Closing the gender play gap: Towards pay equity in sports

To mark the fifth International Equal Pay Day, taking place in an Olympic and Paralympic year, Iceland and the OECD Directorate of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs are hosting the upcoming event Closing the gender play gap: Towards pay equity in sports. The event, taking place from 2:00pm – 4:30pm on Thursday, 12 September (CEST), will bring together experts and professional athletes for an engaging discussion on pay equity in sports. Speakers will reflect on progress made so far, the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and practical approaches to ensuring fair pay for women athletes. Confirmed speakers include former professional and Olympic footballers from the Iceland, New Zealand and U.S. national teams, a British ultramarathoner, and interventions from the Prime Minister of Iceland and the OECD Secretary-General.
